It ‘s pure coincidence that when written, the destinations of our next two DJ  bookings visually look similar.  There’s no master plan and the similarity ends here  of course – getting ‘Trashed’ in Dubai as we intend to in Dublin could land us in the ‘nick’ Grooverider style so we’ll need to keep our focus sharp!

Yes it has indeed been a while since i last posted on the blog.  Blame the workload, blame my laziness, blame my inability to write coherent text; whatever you will it is valid.

Well here is my recompense; what I feel I owe to the musings of this musical artefact is an introduction…  A producer, with support from Erol Alkan, a track that has received props on Radio 1 via Kissy Sellout, plus a first for an underground UK recording artist to adopt the application of QR codes in their artwork…

You cannot fail to appreciate all 3 mixes of new single, ‘Runaway’, which you can hear, via his new label blog (Heartbeats), currently being touted.  A MUST for all and sundry and a big “if you like this then you ARE gonna love the new Phonat material” plug to ALL readers – especially when considering the Supermal Mix.

Contrary to popular belief when the above phrase is used, it hasn’t actually gone horribly wrong and we haven’t been invaded by the coke badgers either. It’s good news. No, it’s great news… Tracking us down through the power of good-taste (and great PR), Pete Tong will be playing the Shir Kahn remix of ‘Mash It Up’ on his Fast Trax show this week (Friday 5th).

The phenomenally good remix from Shir is exclusive to the launch of the mobile version of the ‘Pete Tong’s Fast Trax’ show, which roughly translates as meaning dedicated viewers can now get all the good stuff (innit) straight onto their mobile.

A band that i’m keen to raise to your attention this week is the magnificent Kish Mauve.

Kish Mauve – aka vocalist Mima and producer Jim Eliot – gained recognition for their shimmering but sultry brand of electro pop when they wrote and produced Kylie’s phenomenal ‘2 Hearts’, the cherry-picked lead single from her much loved comeback album ‘X’. Jim is also responsible for producing the recent Rosie & The Goldbug’s album.

With their Kylie casino chips well in the bag, the duo are now set to release their very own unique blend of seductive pop noir, starting with the twisted dance-floor filler ‘Lose Control’, which features Ladyhawke’s very own Pip Brown on the geetars.

For me it’s all about the club mixes and the remix package i have for ‘Lose Control’ includes; Michael Morph, Neoteric, and Superbass. But the two stand-out mixes are Fred Falke’s, and something altogether more noisy from Chewy Chocolate Cookies. Two quality names, two quality mixes; need i say more.. enjoy!
